The last of our SEATs get packed into the truck as they leave the factory.
SEAT is made in a factory in Thanh Hoa, 5 hours south of Hanoi, Vietnam. The S.E.A.T Project has provided machinery to the factory to assist in the development and manufacturing of SEAT. The factory uses local renewable energy resources. They use the off cuts from the bamboo and collect the sawdust from the factory floor to fuel the furnace that powers the whole bamboo factory! It employs mostly women, providing them with skills, training and flexibility so that they can look after their families and tend to their farms.
Vietnam is another part of our butterfly effect, demonstrating to students that one small action can make a big and lasting positive impact.
