Tooleybuc Central School is a small K-12 school located on the Murray River in the Riverina South West. With the support of their School Chaplain, students have begun their first S.E.A.T Project. The students enjoyed assembling their cleverly designed bamboo stools out of a flat pack box. It will be exciting to see how they work through the lesson plans of S.E.A.Ts education program to come up with some wise solutions!
It was actually really great to see the students learn from their first experience (build) that getting frustrated with each other doesn’t help the team, and then have so much fun and success round 2!
The boys painted the SEATs after a fundraiser BBQ at school – we were focusing on education and got everyone to write something they were grateful for about school at the BBQ. The boys had some good reflections after this about how they worked together during the BBQ and how well they got their message across.
We have raised enough money to purchase two more SEATs and pay it forward to another school (or two)… to give other students the same chance to have fun and learn that the boys have had. The two SEATs we have built will stay in the Tooleybuc community.”
