Year 5 students of Nakara Primary School are members of a team of 6 Darwin schools embracing a S.E.A.T/Darwin community project in 2018. Their community story was so widespread that they made the Channel 9 News in Darwin! They have auctioned off their SEATs at a school event and raised over $600 to send to an orphanage in Thailand.

S.E.A.T Project for 40th Birthday
Since Term 2, our Year 5 students have been on a journey of personal growth involving the S.E.A.T Project. As a values based project, S.E.A.T encourages students to explore their own potential to enhance the world in which they live.
During the program, the children constructed and decorated a small bamboo SEAT to sell in order to raise money for their chosen charity – Grace Ministries. The foundation, which houses orphans in Thailand who would have been exploited through the slave trade and prostitution, are in need of more land to support the increasing number of young, homeless children. Our aim is to raise as much capital as possible to help with the purchase of land.
The SEATs the Year 5 students have built and decorated for this project will be on sale at our 40th Birthday Celebration through a paper bidding auction. Donations to support this cause are also gratefully accepted.”
