Launceston Big Picture School is the first stand-alone Big Picture School in the Australian Public School system and S.E.A.T’s first Big Picture School!
Year 9 students, as a part of their Art Club, are designing and executing artworks onto their SEATs that will be exhibited later in the year. The student designers/artists were presented with a brief that follows the line of ‘Head, Hand, Heart’; a worldwide Big Picture School goal. The brief can be viewed here:
There is some really cool stuff happening. We are exhibiting/auctioning off the works for charity (yet to be decided) at a cool local gallery called SAWTOOTH ARI in Launceston as part of a Threshold (school to public) community arts program in July. It is going to be awesome! It has been a very enlightening and educational project for the students, particularly in regard to sustainability and collaboration. Thanks for your initiative in putting this project together!”
